Samsung SR-S24FTA – First power on works ok then defrosts?

Hi,

We had a recent problem with the common noisy fan issue which was down to a build up of ice in the top back of fridge, obstructing the fan. We managed to remove back cover and use a hair-dryer to remove ice and clear drain hole. We then reassembled the fridge. BTW, freezer was still working fine at this stage.

Now, the fridge and freezer does not appear to be maintaining low temperatures. After initial power on, the FF seems fine and ice maker works ok. But after some time, the FF seems to go quiet and appears to defrost – showing some residual water under unit?

Any suggestions most welcome. Is there a self test we can perform to check the FF components?

Further information…

Found the issue to be with the Defrost function. After 4 hours of operation following power on, the FF started to warm up. This was confirmed by running the FF using a timer controller which switched off FF every 4 hours.

The thermal fuse is open circuit. Does anybody know the replacement part number for this model?
