ParticipantHello Everyone!
I have this Samsung SR2028CVW that cools down then after it has entered defrost refuses to come out of it! After reading other posts I just wanted to check that I have correctly identified my problem.
Details:
The machine will cool down to -17 and 3 (the temperatures I have set it to). It will be fine for several hours but then start to warm up at which point the temperature indicators flash (to indicate it is above the set temperature is what I have read this means). I have tried leaving the doors open with it switched off for 3 days but this did not cure the problem. So I cleaned out all the dust from the fans underneath the bottom of the fridge, this helped the fridge cool down quicker but did not cure my issue. I then looked at these forums and decided to call in an engineer. He proclaimed htat the main logic board was at fault and not any sensors and charged me the best part of £200 to replace it. This of course did not work. So I quickly said good by to him and read on. Reading the guide on here I checked that there was no ice intruding inside the evaporator cover, and there was not. So I am lead to believe that it is probably the defrost sensor? And I do have an older white one not this black one they talk about – is this likely the issue? Thanks in advance!

ParticipantHave been doing some measuring to try and see if I can find the faulty component. My readings mostly tally with what the ones on the diagnosis page for the “not cooling properly” problem with them however as I could not test the sensor at 0c I couldnt get that to tally up. It came in at 7.99ko (dont know how to do the proper symbol for that!) I am thinking perhaps it is the main heater itself. Does anyone know also how to test the bits in the freezer side and how can I test the heater in the fridge side? And is that sensor ok (this was at about 15 degress in centigrade). I would really appretiate and advice!

Hi
The problem will be either the defrost heater/sensor/thermal fuse in the fridge section.
I can supply the whole heater ass which comes complete with all these components.

Sounds good. How much and how do I order?! Also – I couldnt see how the heater attatched on first glance – have you seen it at all? If not I will just look at the fittings on the new one. Thanks

ParticipantHi chrisdixon2,
I am having similar problem as you are having with your Samsung. It is very frustrating. Did you manage to finally solve the problem, and how? Would be grateful for any suggestion you may have.
Fred.
