I think I may need a new evaporator cover. Can anyone tell me roughly how much they are please?

Thanks Simon. The engineer said he didn’t think we needed a new evaporator cover as he checked sensors and themostat and said they were ok. But the water tank is still freezing up and there is ice on the cover behind the tank, and obviously no water is dispensed. What does anyone here think? Thanks for your help, Lesley

    Hi Lesley

You will definetly need to have the evaperator cover replaced as that is the only comonent that will allow the water tank to freeze up.

so how does the sensor and the thermostat being ok (even thought it doesnt have a thermostat) mean it doesnt need an evap cover?

    Hi All

The appliance does tecnically have a thermostat..

Being that the resistance on a thermister changes with temp then unless you have a controlled enviroment with a known temp then you cannot guarantee the full correctness of a thermister, you can have a rough guide with the correct temp, ohm chart but most engineers dont have one and even those who does have access to it (I Have it,dont use it) dont really use it.(long winded and boring)

As stated previously..change the evap cover and it’ll solve your problem.

Only you really can answer that question as you know your own ability 😉
