ParticipantHi Guys
We have a bit of an issue with our Samsung SRL3616B fridge freezer
we noticed last night that it wasn’t turning on at its usual interval, and when we opened the freezer compartment some of the food had started to defrost!
so we power cycled by turning off and on again from the switch, it then came on for a long time and then turned itself off again, this morning it wasn’t turning on again and so we power cycled and after 5 minutes it switched itself off and didn’t come on again- and seemingly wont ever come on again unless we turn off the power cycle it…
this model doesn’t have a LCD display, just a power button ref temp button and 5 LED lights so I’m not sure how you get a fault code if any exists
I managed to find a service manual here
http://www.scribd.com/doc/41634423/Manu … -SRL-3626B
but its not of much help – any idea what it could be? we are thinking it could be the thermostat does anyone know where its located, it looks like its in the fridge compartment but im not 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} sure if thats even the problem!

Hi all, so we took the defrost sensor out and tested using a multimeter(multi meter set to 20K) – we put it into a different freezer of around -18 the sensor is showing 15.80 or there about’s, once its in room temperature the figure goes down to 5.4 or so…if we set the multimeter to 200 ohms (ie x1) then its showing 1
does this mean that the sensor is faulty?
if it matters, we checked the freezer sensor and the fridge sensor and they were both showing almost identical figures
finally, the defrost heater itself was caked in ice – although I don’t know if this is because we have been turning it off and on again
what to try next?!?!?

Hi, did you manage to fix your fridge freezer? Mine is doing the same and I’m trying to get it fixed but only spend on what’s broken, if you catch my meaning.
