went out to this other day fault was freezer not working fridge working ok. run diagnostics and found no problem. run forced defrost and run and all ok. removed rear cover in freezer and found top part of evap frozen solid and bottom with no refidgeration on. looked to me as if moisture filter or evap was blocked. advise customer to go to samsung. got a call this morning from customer saying had samsung out and the changed the user interface board and seems to fix problem. something to do with comunications between main board and interface?? has anyone come across this as i can get my head round this one

    Hello,

Never heard of that one. And I see on average 10 samsung american a week.

Common fault on the older twin cooling was/is the Fridge Evap Heater, thermal fuse, Defrost sensor or usual moisture ingress into Evap cover.

Problem was if the Heater or Thermal fuse in the fridge failed, the module was programmed to stay off until the fridge evap reaches room temperature. Result is freezer defrosts, unless customer de-powers – re-powers appliance.

On the later RS21 series. Should the defrost not be attained on the evaporators within “I Think” 45-50 mins. Then the module swithes back to rerigeration mode.End an error is stored in the module as a horizontal line in the centre of the relevant 8

    Hope this helps?

    TM
