afternoon all. we have been out to theafore mentioned appliance because the fridge evaporator freezes up.nothing new there.however the customer has been given the impression by parties unknown the is a mod for this fault. i can find nothing on the samsung site to back this up.the appliance checks out ok.defrost heater and thermal fuse ok so were just going to try defrost sensor. would appreciate if any one has had any other info

I’ve had loads of these too with no apparent cause. If a sensor fails, aren’t they supposed to report it as an error code by flashing on the display?

Hi Pinky

Andy is right. If you hold down quick freeze & vacation button for eight secs the machine should go into self diagonstics. ( buzzer should ding dong, no not Leslie Philips) when mode is selected. Have you access to Service manual as I see you can access their website. PM if you need any more info.

It does a self check and indicates any faults by flashing part of one of the 0’s – the code can then be looked up.
