We have used our Samsung washer (model possibly P1453s) for over 6 years – it is part of a rented house and was here when we moved in – and it has started displaying a UE error towards the end of every spin, and not draining the water out fully.

UE usually means unbalanced load, but the loads are the same sizes/ types as we have done for 6+ years, and even when I take half or more out of the machine and try again it does exactly the same.

Not knowing the first thing about washers, I have tried emptying the debris filter in case that did anything, but there was nothing much in there bar a bit of fluff which I discarded.
Quick Google and I’m wondering if it could be a faulty drain pump…

It’s down to the landlord to fix ultimately, but if it’s something I can sort quickly myself, all the better.

    Thoughts and advice please!

run the machine through a rinse with nothing in it

watch how fast it drains and see if it tries to go into spin with some of the water left in. As it drains you should see the water level fall and it will fall quicker the lower it gets. if it does not seem drain properly you either have a blockage or an pump problem

blockages can be anything but most of the time its cloth based. a build up of fluff or colour catcher are very common as they get lodged in the hoses before the filter
