Not been a good week, would have been better without Samsungs to drive one nuts!

This is a Q1435VGW/XEU showing an 8E fault soon after startup. No motor action. Brushless motor. Large power board, all very posh, built like a tank and completely sealed in a gold resin. All lovely and new looking, no scorch marks or other evidence of naughtiness.

Removed motor (all OK, tacho looks fine) and put on spin cycle. Motor starts to advance in small jerks for a few secs, then Error 8E announces itself. Lots of beeping.

We noted that this is a three-phase motor (three phases generated by the power board I guess) per the attached schematic, and wondered if it had lost a phase…. hence jerkiness.

Need advice on what to do next – buy expensive power board perhaps?

Also would appreciate a source of Samsung spares.

    Thanks

(Why are we working in this weather? We should all be down the beach…)

def the board at the bottom corner changed quite a few for your fault.

    cheers chris.

Re: SAMSUNG Washer Q1435VGW no motor action

    Hi

OVER CURRENT ERROR – Display shows 8E .
    – IPM fault signal (that is caused by the overload of MICOM INT0 during motor action) is sensed.
IPM : Integrated power module. , IPM controls motor.
    – If the fault signal (low signal) happens to be sensed even one time during cleansing/rinsing stage,
the motor stops immediately. However, during dehydrating stage the signal is to be sensed
when the number of signal is more than 6 for 500ms.
    – During Cleansing or Rinsing
When the overload is sensed, the motor stops immediately and then proceeds to the next water-flow action.
If the stopping of the motor working is happens in one direction ten times,
    “8E” Error is displayed.
    – During dehydrating
When the overload is sensed, the motor stops to work at once and then feeds back to the initial
stage of the dehydration unbalance sensing.
When the feed back is continuously happened 2 times, “8E” Error is displayed
During the dehydrating unbalance sensing, No error happens by overload sensing.
When it happens at more than 800rpm, the process.

But i will as the question later today to tech dept.

WoW! All totally clear!! Well, I got the first line anyway! I guess “dehydrating” is a cool word for “the spin cycle”. Guess I can use that –

“Well madam, the problem is that during the dehydrating cycle the carbon-compound inserts ceased to maintain adequate interface with the multi-segment armature interface….” (brush change)

Anyway, thanks Bryan, and hope you hear something back from said tech dept. Much appreciated. 😀

If you know a well stocked supplier let me know.
