My 2 year old Samsung washing machine refuses to spin

I have tried different settings, cleaning the filter, loading less clothes and it still refuses to spin

It sounds like metal clicking against metal if I select spin only the machine emptys the water without an issue and fills up OK but spin cycle does not work and the timer counts down still.

Is there a way I can try a reset by pressing and holding any buttons

Really miffed off as the machine should be lasting longer than 2 years it cost me 389 pound so it ain’t a cheap machine

    Hope someone can help

    Thanks in advance

    Chris

    Re: Samsung Washing Machine

You don`t give a model number. So I`m guessing only.
I presume that the drum does not go round on wash as well as spin? If it is has a belt I would turn the power off remove the back panel as it sounds like, from what you say, that the belt has either stripped and wrapped around the motor pulley allowing the motor to still work but as it works the stringy bits of the belt are flaying on the chassis with the high revolutions of the motor making the noise but not showing up on a wash as the motor t`aint going very fast OR the belt is still attached but stringing. At 2 years old I doubt it is anything else unless you`ve got a beltless model, i.e. a Samsung with a rotor motor similar to an LG machine. Have a look. Most Samsung belts are 1270 J5 lengths since there may be very little of yours left to read off, but check it out based on your model number if you have to order one.
