Hopefully one of the experts here could clarify something for me please. Sorry for what may seem a very basic question but I tried to ask Samsung only the wait time for their helpline is horrendously long.

The drain hose on my machine needs to be replaced as the rubber end has been damaged and the seal is not as good as before. I have found a company locally which will carry out the replacement using a genuine part. I think that this will be more cost-effective than Samsung doing it and it will carry a longer guarantee of the work done.

I know that this replacement is not covered by the warranty but I wonder if having a third party replace the hose would have any effect on the validity of the Samsung warranty itself. I know they don’t like third parties working on their phones.

    Thanks in advance.

If the local company is decent and ‘careful’ then how will Samsung know the hose has been changed?

Good point. They are Miele service agents so I guess they are decent. I have looked on Youtube and understand how to do it but would rather not remove so much of the machine myself – not to mention the time involved.

If your washer is still under warranty then call samsung say its leaking and the engineer who comes will change the drain hose for you
