My customer has this Samsung w/m that has a fault where the motor grates when on wash and sometimes shudders and sticks. The drum is free to turn and no bearing wear.
I don’t see many of these and have not seen this before. I think it’s a motor fault but would like advice from anyone who may have seen this before.

sounds like its a 3 phase motor that’s lost a phase
if that’s the case can be either motor or control board
no access to tech on this is it direct drive or separate motor and belt ?

Most likely a power module fault. Check the motor windings read the same value across any 2 of the 3 terminals (ie top to middle, bottom to middle, and top to bottom)
