Samsung WW80J5555FX – drum not rotating

Hi everyone

My washer has stopped working without any pre-warnings…

When I start the washing cycle, the water pump starts supplying the water to the drum and that is all that happens. The drum does not roate at all. I then change the cycle to “Spin”, and the water wowuld get drained, but again no rotation from the drum?

There is hardly any reistance to rotating the drum with hands, and the drive belt has not snapped.

Is it time to look for another appliance or could anyone advise if I could repair this?

from what i can see quickly your motor has brushes

check if these have worn out

I’ve had them checked, they are as good as new….

Any other ideas?

Anything to avoid spending £400-500 on a new WM…

well if brushes are ok then its down to

wiring
motor
control board

wiring could be cheap but the other 2 start getting expensive

Ok, I will check for possibly lose connections in wiring, otherwise I will scrap the whole thing.
