    Hello,

I hope someone can help me, our washing machine failed yesterday. I don’t know what has failed in it but it tripped the RCD mid-cycle and now won’t power up (I’ve changed fuses and tried other sockets and it’s definitely dead).

We are stuck with a load of washing locked in the machine, all of the information I’ve found online is how to unlock the door when the machine will power up. I’ve found nothing on how to manually override the lock when it won’t power up.

Is there a release on the inside of the machine? I’ve taken the top off and can see the door locking unit but can’t see a lever or toggle to push/pull so that we can open the door.

I’m close to taking a crowbar to it, but there must be a more sympathetic way to open it up?

Having looked in the machine and via google I believe it’s a Samsung DC3400026A door interlock that I need to manually override.

    Thank you

    look at the pic.
this little tag is where the emergency open tag should be fitted

you need to see if yours has got one. then pull it down at the same time see if the door opens

if that fails you have to break the lock apart to get it open

Thank you Dave, we have now got the door open and retrieved the stranded washing. Uneconomical to repair sadly, approx £132 for a visit then parts if fixable. For a seven year old machine better to replace and get a new 5yr warranty than keep the old one going.
