Hi there
I have a 3 year old Samsung washing machine that started to have an electrical smell when in use for about 10 days. Then it suddenly stopped working but worked when switched off and on. The next day it would not work when you switched it on. I changed the plug to a different socket and then it crackled and still didn’t work.
Anyone come across something similar?
Is this work getting fixed to sell the machine second hand (we had to replace it immediately due to the uniform my children wear).

If the latter replace the plug and make sure none of the wires are / look damaged plug end – just stick on a new 13amp plug and try that. Or if you mean the actual machine crackled then did nothing other than the panel lights remained on? Or did not even come on?
