Sandstrom fridge freezer issue

Hi,

We have a Sandstrom fridge freezer model SFF4DS12 which is playing up. There is a clicking sound and the fridge is not cooling. The rear plate has been taken off and cleaned, together with what I presume is the compressor (cylindrical in shape with fins). Both contained a fair amount of dust etc. The ‘compressor’ has not been taken out just vacuumed around. The problem still appears to exist though. I have noticed that the internal fridge light also flickers, maybe unrelated.

What I can’t confirm yet is whether or not the freezer section is working as the food inside remains frozen. This maybe due to the current temperature remaining due to the doors being closed.
Any ideas on what else I can check etc in an attempt to fix? Thanks

Sounds like a compressor or relay failure but most Sandstrom badged product was made for Currys by Daewoo who are no longer trading so getting parts is a problem for most as they are virtually all obsolete now.

Thanks for the response. Looks as though it’ll need to be replaced. The freezer is still cold, could this still be working?

Depends on the setup and how long it’s had an issue plus, without knowing what temp the freezer was down to it’d be a guess.
