ParticipantIt would be really useful if we got Saturday delivery on spares from
Connect/masterpart etc without paying any extra,
I would move my order to them,
If I order on Friday I might not get order until Late Monday and if it’s after 3 pm then Tuesday.
So take note Connect.September 16, 2016 at 6:07 pm #441002kwatt

With the premium you pay for a weekend delivery then the low margins on spares, I’ll let you guess the chances. 😉
Depending on what and where, that could cost you between an extra £8 to well over £20 a shipment. So I’d reckon it’d have to be an order worth at least a few hundred quid to be even worth looking at.
I’m sure sending loads you’d get it cheaper but no clue how much. Amazon and such can only do it as they own their own logistics cause they’re monumentally huge shipping thousands of packs per day.

It would be helpful if suppliers offered a choice of delivery methods, at different prices. They offer this on their retail sites, so why not for the trade?
For example, Royal Mail 1st class or Royal Mail 24 will usually get delivered on a Saturday morning if despatched on a Friday, and often at lower cost.

Royal Mail lately have been pretty grim.
In our experience dropping from 95{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} next day on FC to less than 70-80{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} chance. Often taking several working days from dispatch.
Royal Mail 24 is the rebranded First Class service.
Don’t even get me started on RM48, the notion of “48” in there is little more than a joke if you ask me, often takes way more than a week, sometimes up to three weeks to deliver.

Royal Mail is a good deal more reliable than UKMail here (as used by one well known wholesaler).

Yeah, this time of the year you start to see that as they’ve largely all got the drivers out seven days a week.
We’ve seen stuff delivered on Sundays and so on as well as they try to keep the Christmas madness under control.
