Took a call today on my old business No (usually dealt with by my partner, but they were unavailabe so it was diverted).
Short version, the lady on the phone was selling Internet listings, I happen to be listed , who knows???
I stressed I was not signing for any advertising and that was that.
She went on to check my details, although I refused an address she asked for a postcode, I refused.
She went on to ask for 5 keywords to anyone searching my details.
Although I had stated I did not wish to contribute, at the end of the session I confirmed that no payment would be required..
I was then informed that I had been listed on the premium listing and the cost £99 +vat
I declined the invitation and hung up.
Speaking to a friend, he had had the same and some weeks later an invoice and subsequent follow ups threatening court action.
It was suspended following him subsequently sending a solicitors letter, but to his cost.
This girl was trying to override anything which I said to ensure a sale.
Just to let you know – If its your call dont take it that they will accept a simple NO.
Let you know if I hear anymore.

Tell them you are registered with the telephone preference service, and they are commiting a criminal offence just by phoning you.

Scares the hell out of them.
