SCANDINOVA FREEZER NOT REACHING CORRECT TEMPERATURE

I have a Scandinova up right freezer, it is not reaching correct temperature -18 it is only reaching -11. I defrosted it 2 days ago because there was a lot of build up of ice. The freezer is empty now and still same fault. The compressor is running at the back but it is very warm, door seems to be closing ok seal on door looks ok. Could damaged door seal be causing problem and how do you test. Freezer is 4 years old if this helps. Model num- UF 7-87W.

Can anybody shed any light ? 🙁

If the compressor is very hot and it is running most/or all of the time I would suggest you are short of refrigerant – suggest you get a fridge engineer in – perhaps at ‘repairs@’ to your left

Or the compressor is running weak (internal seals shot) and needs replaced.

Depends on the age of the fridge Rick, but if it’s more than 5 years old then most likely it’s not worth repairing from a cost point of view.
