    Hi,

I’ve got a Schreiber APM 6121 Fridge Freezer which I’ve had for 6 years now with no problem.

However I’m finding that lately it’s been creating a lot of ice on the back wall of the fridge part and also finding that the door doesn’t always close propperly (easier to spot of a evening when you can see the lnterior light!)

Are the two things linked ?

The fridge is a fitted type and has a wooden door fascia, although I can’t see any obvious obstruction preventing to from closing propperly.

What can I do to fix the ‘not always closing propperlu ‘ problem – is this in need of a new door ?

    Thanks In advance.

    Andrew

    Almost certainly 🙂

One or both of the hinges has dropped/broken by the sound of it, check for cracks etc as these are a very common failure, see 246009700 and 246009800 in our on-line shop here:

Hi there, I have similar symptoms as above but from my checking of the hinges, nothing seems to be completely broken or loose. I can “prop” the door up slightly by a small amount and this does help the door to close a bit better. Could it be that something has stretched a little? Should it be more obvious that something has “gone” with the hinge?

By the way, what an excellent website. I have already ordered a new freezer door handle as I snapped this completely last night! Shame about these useless MFI fridge freezers!
