    Hi there,

I have one of these fridges, and last week it decided that it would only cool things down to 10 degrees. The motor is switching on and off in a normal-sounding way, and the light still works inside unless the thermostat is turned down to zero. There is no ice build-up on the back of the interior, and very little water lying in the drainage channels.

Can anyone give any clues as to why this is happening and how I could fix it? The other numbers from the fridge are:

    Serial number: 961708474
    Refridgerant: R134a 0.050kg

Also, I read in another thread about a similar fridge that there should be venting in the kitchen panels at the front and back to allow the air to circulate. Mine has vents at the front, but not in the back panel – should I get the drill and jigsaw out?

    Many thanks,
    George

If it’s cutting in and out in theory it’s working electrically and mechanically.

Check the door seal for a good fit and the door hinges are also a weak point on these causing the door to hang poorly.

There is also a cooling fan motor near the compressor that could cause this, power off before checking though :plug:

As for the venting, if there is a fairly good gap at the front top and vents in the plinth that should be enough, but it would help with vents to the rear of the work surface, especially in the hot weather we have been experiencing recently.

Thanks Dave – can you tell me if you sell replacement hinges for this model, in case I have to change them?

The other thing I forgot to mention in my first post was that when the motor cuts out each time, for the next 30 seconds or so there is a distinct noise like liquid swishing around (if that makes sense!) coming from inside the fridge. Is that an indication of anything?

    Cheers,
    George

Yep, in the shop@, if you follow the link below, it’s one of each of those:

The gurgling is just the gas in the system, without hearing it of course but it appears normal.
