ParticipantHi guys,
new to the forum and looking for some help.
I have serched the internet and found mixed solutions.
my issue is the fridge will not cool bellow 10ish deg. 8-9-10 regardless of how full or empty it is. there is also a lot of condensation on the back plate of the fridge.
The drain hole is clear, the light is on and goes off when set to zero, the fan clicks in and out with the compressor but npt for long 1 -2 mins if door is open for 30 seconds or so.
to me it looks like the thermostat is faulty and regulating at 10deg.
although other people sugest the compressor is gubbed and I need a new fridge.
please can someone advise before I waste any money.
cheers
Craig

Check to see if the fan at the front on the bottom left is working when the compressor is running.
If the fan is not working it will not cool Down.
If the fan & compressor runs for a few minutes and then cuts out it will most likely be the thermostat.
If it was a faulty compressor or low on gas the fan and compressor would run continuous.
If the compressor was seized the fan at the front would still run.

Hi bob Thanks.
the fan runs and I belive the compressor is running to.
on your last point. would the fridge cool to 8-10 deg if the compressor was seized?
also if the compressor was seized would the fan not run continually?

Hi from Bob
No if the compressor was seized it would be hot inside the fridge.
If the fan and compressor are not running continuously then the thermostat will be the problem.
