These electronically controlled models seem to be dropping like flies 🙁
The PCB is normally the culprit on this model, you can get one here:

Power off please when checking :zap:

Our freeze has done the same thing, just defrosted, warning and light bleeper went off, no other noises, pump doesn’t start up etc..
How hard is it to change this circuit board ? and where abouts in the freezer can it be found?
thanks in advance

The pcb can be accessed by removing the plastic strip on the top panel to the rear of the door. The pcb was given to a local engineer to check last thurs and he advises that the pcb is being repaired and will be available mon. Will advise outcome

thanks for the replies, but my girlfriend found the paper work that came with the freezer, and discovered she’d taken out the extened waranty. including parts and labour until 2008…
so looks like no need for me to get my hand dirty, nice man is coming tomorrow…
thanks anyway

I’ve just received a new PCB from UK Whitegoods and fitted it in less than ten minutes.
First turn off the power supply!! Open the freezer door and turn the thermostat dial to 0 (furthest anti-clockwise). Then prise off the white thermostat/light panel with your fingers. Start at the right hand end and the thermostat dial peg should pop out. Gently prise the whole panel off and put it somewhere safe.
Unscrew any clamps or brackets securing the freezer to the underside of the worktop, and pull the freezer forward to expose a small plastic panel on the top surface. Prise this out. It’s held by two clips on its back edge. This will expose the old PCB. Simply lift this up out of its slot and disconnect the two electrical connections.
To fit the new PCB first check that it is set to the lowest temperature (furthest anti-clockwise). If not, use the dial peg you removed earlier to correct this. Connect the two sets of electrical wires to the PCB and slot it down into place. (Make sure the dial hole is to the right). Replace the plastic cover on the top, then the white plastic thermostat/light panel, making sure the dial peg is turned to its lowest setting before you insert it.
Push the freezer back into position and re-fix to the underside of the worktop.
Set the thermostat dial to between 2 and 3, turn on the power and press the fast freeze button on the left. Close the door and wait for the freezer to achieve the set temperature!!January 26, 2008 at 4:10 pm #196303fredferkel

Just wanted to add that I had a fault with my APP6403 freezer with the buzzer going off and no compressor kicking in.
I bought the PCB from UK Whitegoods, it cost half the price of the part from anywhere else and arrived in 36 hours.
I fitted it following the instructions above and it works perfectly. I even emailed a pic of the old board to UK Whitegoods as it looked different to the one in the picture on their site and they confimed that the new one did look different, but it was the correct part to order.
Brillian site, excellent advice and really helpful. If like me you are a keen amateur and stumbled across the site while looking for a repair man to call I would thoroughly recommend that you have a go yourself and save youself a lot of cash doing it yourself.
Thanks to all on the site. 🙂

I have a similar problem with the same model. The freezer works, gets cold and switches off the freezer. However when it starts to warm up every couple of days or so it fails to start the freezer and the first we know is the alarm going. If you bang the panel the freezer starts up again. Is this the PCB or is it something else.
Any help would be very appreciated.
Thanks
Gareth
