My freezer seemed to be working fine but recently it started beeping and I noticed that the top right corner casing just to the right of the control panel was getting really hot. I powered off the freezer and removed the thermostat board (after reading a few posts onlne) to see if there was any sign of damage, and noticed a dark brown area surrounding the quick-freeze switch and 2 other components (a diode and a capacitor I think). Does anyone suspect that this probable component damage could be responsible for the corner section of the metal casing getting so damn hot? Am I as well to not continue using the freezer until the overheating problem is fixed?
