Re: Schreiber fridge freezer
A couple of things to try before you go any further. Switch the power off to the appliance and make a cup of tea. (short delay whilst you drink it) then with the freezer door open and drawers out switch it back on. Listen hard and see if you hear a hum followed by a click. If so you have a fault with the motor (compressor) If you hear nothing then the chances are you have got a thermostat problem. This machine does not use a convertional thermostat but in its place is an electronic control board. Whilst you may be able to diagnose the fault both these items are very expensive – the control board costs in excess of £60+ and to be honest the compressor is probably too expensive to consider. You should be able to find someone on ‘repairs@’ near you that will give you sensible quote.
