😕 hi there, My parents fridge freezer has stopped working, 14 months old. its a schreiber APM 6852. the light + the led’s inside the fridge work but it just shut down 1 day. we tried resetting it using the controls but it didnt work. any help would be appreciated as these integrated units are £300 minimum usually. they phoned the kitchen manufacturer + they wanted £90 just to turn up without doing anything 👿
    any help is much appreciated

A couple of things to try before you go any further. Switch the power off to the appliance and make a cup of tea. (short delay whilst you drink it) then with the freezer door open and drawers out switch it back on. Listen hard and see if you hear a hum followed by a click. If so you have a fault with the motor (compressor) If you hear nothing then the chances are you have got a thermostat problem. This machine does not use a convertional thermostat but in its place is an electronic control board. Whilst you may be able to diagnose the fault both these items are very expensive – the control board costs in excess of £60+ and to be honest the compressor is probably too expensive to consider. You should be able to find someone on ‘repairs@’ near you that will give you sensible quote.
