    Hi,

I’ve recently moved into a new house, with a Schrieber APM6325 SX installed in the kitchen.

It’s not running particularly cold (ever now and again you hear the compressor going). I have tried moving the dial round – 0 seems to be off and then 5 (I’m guessing) is as cold as it goes.

I’ve read some other posts, and wondered if it could be the thermostat that’s gone, as in it’s not reading the temperature and therefore not cooling. Someone had a problem with it being too cold, and the thermostat was mentioned then.

I know I can get a replacement thermostat – how easy is it to fit for a average DIYer ?!?

    Any advice greatly appreciated.

    Regards

    Paul

    Hi Paul,

It’s possible that it is the thermostat and they are reasonably easy to change but I wouldn’t guarantee that it is the stat. There’s no way to tell TBH except, if you turn the stat back/forward to you hear it click at all? If it does then the chances are that the stat is okay and the compressor is pumping weak.

    HTH.

    Hi,

Thanks for the feedback. I’ve just tried rotating the dial through 1-5, backwards and forwards, but no click – nothing at all.

So therefore I’m going to take the plunge and order a new thermostat, hoping that’s the problem.

Worst case I have to get someone out to it, or I just get an extra cupboard in the kitchen. I have a larger fridge freezer in the garage.

    Thanks again.

    Regards

    Paul
