    Hello

    My freezer approx 4 years old (APP6403 – serial number 20024916129 – 036103009 – 03 02)has had the audible warning light going off every couple of days. Which in turn I press the fast freeze button. This has been okay for a few weeks now the freezer has given up completely and is thawing and the audible warning light is constantly going off.

    I have noted the replies on here about a problem with a dodgy batch of freezers, have I got one of those?

    What do you think is wrong with it and is it easy to fix?

    hi francine,i have the same problem with my freezer.the same model and age.have not yet got to the bottom of the problem.can you please keep updating this post if you get any result in finding the problem.I will do the same.

    Hi again,
    From what i’ve read on earlier posts it seems a good bet that its the thermostat.which is located in the front control panel.Got a price for 50.51 for the part plus 5.81 p+p.

    I too have this unit and the audio warning light won’t turn off since Saturday.

    Is it definately the thermostat???? Have you changed it and is it now working Marley102???

    Can you post a picture of it?

    If you use the “Search” facilty and put in ‘APP6043’ then select this forum only, there is plenty of information relating to these appliances.

    paulw97, i changed the pcb board and the freezer is now working fine,easy job.It seems that a lot of these models have had the same problems.

    marley102, did your pcb have a relay on it?

    Mine didn’t, but it worked ok when I fitted it 2 days ago.

    Everything is still ok, touch wood.

    no the new board didn’t have a relay on, working fine. glad to here you’ve had success also.this site is brilliant.saved myself a load of cash 😀 .cheers again to all that helped.
