ParticipantHi, I am going to this on wedesday. Customers says Frezzer works fine, Fridge is getting too warm, Says they can hear the fan that sucks the cold air into the Fridge running. So I am assuming the Freezing grill is gonna be thick with Ice. Thus blocking the air’s route into the fridge.
Do the sensors/Heaters/timer that run the defrost sequence fail often? Is there a value on the Mega I can check for?
I normally defrost the machine carefully using a hair-dryer and although this solves the problem short term. If the defrost sequence is not working as it should, the problem will return. How can I be sure things are working as intended?
Many thanks in advance 😀

ParticipantCome across loads of these making sure both channels are clear top one and one bottom right behind the evap. Its usually the drain hole freezing over but i have changed a few heaters going down to earth…..
Using a hand held steamer is much more successful and you can see that the vents are definatly cleared

Always use a commercial hair dryer, never thought of using a steamer, will give it a try, thanks.

If the no frost evaporator sensor ( defrost sensor ) is the flat type it will be the sensor faulty.
Fit the newer round type and this will solve the problem.September 8, 2010 at 9:54 pm #329694neon_3SP_glow

yes the m/c has two sensors in the evap. grill, both flat types, one lays along the top, one on the polystyrene outside on the front.
The wires go off through the back, m/c is integrated!

It is the inside sensor faulty not the outside one on the poly block.
It is rare for a heater to go on this model.
The sensor plugs into a pcb on the back of the freezer so you will have to take the freezer out to gain access to it.
Or you can cut the sensor wires inside and connect the new sensor and heat shrink ( insulate ) the conections MAKE SURE THE MAINS POWER IS OFF AS THE WIRES STAY LIVE EVEN IF THE POWER IS TURNED OF AT THE MAIN PCB CONTROL. -
