ParticipantFour months ago I was getting £120 per tonne of washing machines.
Today £40 per tonne.
Mind how you drive through those country lanes won’t you! 😉

This is because the scrap merchants were buying at high prices as the chinese were buying at top dollar.it will drop again before the end of the month as the commoditys markets fall and the scrap men have tons of unsold scrap purchased at high prices.

took x4 20yr old machines in to scrap this week and got £2.50
it cost me £2. to drive there….. 🙁

You wuz robbed. It’s £30/tonne at the mo. which by my reckoning should be £2.40 for a 80Kg machine.

just had a look at my weight on ticket and thay had a weight of 240kg
so should have got more at the price you have said…….should have got a £5 ISH MORE……… i will have a chat with them next time i call in ….
its just good to get rid of them the right way as we all know about the weeeeeeeeeeeee regs
