Are such things available,

I need to have a look at my X4 Extra upright, making a bit of a whining noise, especially when the brush head is lifted off the floor.

never seen one but they are easy to work on and you can buy almost every little part as a spare

you problem is probably the bearing at the back end of the brush roll where the drive comes through

Hmm, a bit of a puzzling statement that Dave, 🙂

Actually just had the roller brush out, looks fine so drive shaft bearing is a possibllity.

Do you know the part number?

Changed the roller brush and the end bearing unit which did appear to have a bit of play in it.
Still making a loud whining noise though, guessing a motor assy will be pricy?

qualtex list 2 motors for it dearest is £80 +Vat
