ParticipantHi,
Just moved into a new flat, and the oven is very tempremental.
The clock plate has two dials, the top one for the timer (I think) and the bottom dial for the clock. The clock face has an hour and minute hand (grey), a yellow hand (a timer I think) and a red hand that is stuck behind the hour hand. Two days ago we managed to get the oven working by moving the top dial so that it was on automatic or timer. However, yesterday, that didn’t seem to work.
I think it might be something to do with the red hand, but have no idea, what it is, how to move it or make it work, resetting the clock just moves the red hand with the hour hand. Putting it on automatic or timer, now does nothing.
Anyhelp, would be greatly appreciated.
thanks,
Mark

Hi Mark,
This article should help you as a basic guide to how most oven timers and clocks work.

Hi K,
Thanks for the reply, but I don’t think that answers my problem. The top dial works a different display (a display within the clock face) which has a hand, a striked through alarm clock and a timer. The bottom dial seems to work the clock face and also the yellow dial. I think the yellow dial is also a timer because it clicks down and then sounds the cooker bell. On Monday when we used the timer in the display it also sounded the cooker bell. Now we can’t get it working.
Maybe I have set it to automatic, but I have no idea how to turn it off automatic, if that is the case.
thanks for your help.
Mark

That article pretty much explains how, but you’ll have to adapt the instructions to suit the type of timer you have, it’s an analogue oven clock. There should probably be a “hand” symbol in the window to show it isn’t on auto, just as the article says. 😉
You are correct however, it sounds as if it’s been knocked onto automatic.
