Hi all
After yet another fault with my Blomberg washer dryer I’ve decided it’s time to cut my losses and move on. Programmes that involve washing and drying don’t work and with the last issue being a leak, and two separate engineers telling me that that’s just how it is I’m not entirely filled with confidence about the guarantee!

So I’m looking for a washer dryer, which will be reliable, not particularly bothered about fancy features, I guess I’d target spending around £500 but less is a bonus, and more is available if that’s what I need to do to get something reliable!

Any hints, tips and recommendations appreciated!

Thanks!

The bloomberg washer dryers are made by beko and are normally sold by local independent shops if you have a leak and it’s normally water coming from the left hand side or under the appliance this is usually due to liquid detergent or liquid tabs being used at a high temperature wash higher than 30 degrees and with laundry that generates more sudz like towels or fleece throws, try using powder and you won’t have the problem

Two different of their engineers have been to it. Both said words to the effect of “that just how they are”. The water seems to leak out of the drawer, apparently even with the two closed the water pressure is too high for them…. I very rarely wash at over 30 and it’s definitely water and not suds.

In any case the dryer has now stopped working and I’ve lost all confidence in the thing so I’ve decided it’s time to cut my losses and get a new, better, machine.

Well it depends on wash programme you use and load size as the detergent in the tabs can’t be cut in half if your using a small load as regards to the dryer it maybe a broken wire.
washer dryers all have problems regardless of make , other makes might not have the problem of leaking but will have other issues I can’t recommend 1 but I’m sure someone else on here can don

The only washer dryer out there that does what it say it does is the Miele range however you would need to add another £800 odd to your budget. Coming down the Bosch range are not bad. Look at John Lewis as they often give an extra year warranty on most of their products.

Machines around the £500 area are still not great. Two seperate machines are the way to go if you can even if it’s a compact dryer for space issues. The longest washing machine warranty currently is seven years on the Ebac machines.

I don’t use tabs and adjust the liquid dosage as per the machine’s instructions.

Thanks everyone for the info…. Bosch by the sounds then.

Thanks all.
