I am on Hols this week so apologise for not keeping up to date 😳
I was waiting for your reply email and authorisation on this so not sure if you had replied back to my email as unable to check work one.
As it was a while when I asked you about this and you have been dealing with so much other stuff it was not at the fore front I thought you forgot about it?
I thought as we have already got a lot already going on you were going to leave it this time?
No problem I will call him next week and get it arranged?

Ok, starting the GAP analysis this weekend, the plan is to bury my head into it for a few hours tomorrow & Sunday to try get it dusted so any questions can be raised and dealt with, and the analysis sent to OFT way before the meeting.
Do you want me to prepare over the next few weeks, a 5 minute presentation about the formation / progress and how the COP will benefit the WTA and its members?
If so, I’ll be one sober dude on the Thursday night as if I have to do something, it will be the b0ll0cks!
Ade 🙂

I plan to do a presentation at the beginning of the day about the WTA so if you want to do it in that it would break up the monotony of my voice .
will be putting together some sort of agenda during this w/end if I get the chanceAugust 13, 2010 at 8:38 pm #323228VillageIdiot2

Would the WTA session be better at the end or after both open floor sessions at least? Reason: There might be some negative stuff said during the open floor, so end the day on a high? In other words, save the best till last? And we can keep it rolling then as the meeting ends, the WTA will be fresh on peoples minds? And maybe we can hang about signing people up when the room empties a bit at end of meeting?
Just a thought…

KeymasterThe day will be dominated by the RC/DAG and whatever the hell else stuff anyway, we can’t control that. We can, to a degree, control the tone of it.
I’d suggested a Q&A after coffee break in the am. Then a couple of other talks, then lunch. After lunch manufacturer/appliance stuff, Q&A… done. Reason being it breaks it up a bit and keeps it interesting. Plus, positive before lunch with Qualtex then positive afternoon with Amica & ISE.

First time I’ll have seen Bernard in donkey’s years. Not that I was really going to fall over myself to see him.

😆 Probably! But on a serious note, we can’t have RC attend, then have people throwing sticks etc.
Maybe make it clear to everyone on the day discreetly, that obviously RC are going to be a hot topic, but try keep it to fact and questions, as opposed to rumour etc. Afterall, we don’t want other suits seeing us as a bunch of vicious grudge holding engineers! (Although true, that room wont be the place to display it ;))
If we can be nice / polite and respectful towards them, they will no doubt leave knowing we’re a serious bunch! That will be a good achievment 🙂
Also, them seeing RC agents in an enviroment NOT put together by RC, will make them realise the days of secrecy are long gone and the power of networking is more than they have previously respected!
I’m very happy they’re attending… I cannot wait for 24th September!
Ade 🙂

Agreed we need to host a proper reasonable debate about the merits of contract work ,if that happens to stray into RC territory so be it .
We should really avoid conversations in the evening after the suits have gone can shouldn’t we 😉I am amazed that Bernard is coming it makes me think that they are taking it seriously ,they will also have a perception of the WTA being an extension of UKW and it all being Ken’s baby and it all being Kens agenda (Am I being unreasonable Ken ? )
So we need to be professional and also burst any bubbles on that score ,I will compere and keep the day rollling I will also do the WTA presentation with Ade doing his bit re the OFT ,that way when it gets to Bob it’s just another item on the agenda .
