If the idea in splitting up and having an ‘engineers only’ meeting then there’s an ideal opportunity to have 2 or more meeting venues to include both north and south.
One in (say) Oxford and another in (again say) Leeds? Big agenda with current tech topics and possible training thrown in will put more bums on seats, more enthusiasm, more participation?
Sibson is tiny, cramped and sod to get to. Last time there was no wifi and phone access was iffy at best.

Much as I’d love to have it in Oxford (could pop out during lunch for a couple of jobs :)) would it maybe be sensible to have it somewhere like Luton, where people from t’north can get cheap flights down? Maybe somewhere a bit more central than Coventry, so that we can go to a pub or something in the evening rather than being stuck in the Hilton.

I will be there whatever day as I couldn’t make Feb one, personally I’m not a fan of Coventry Hilton but all Hotels are roughly the same, I would suggest Premier Inn booked far enough in advance the rates are can be cheap and if it’s just Engineers do you need a Conference Room or just a Bar !!

The centre of britain hotel looks fine Ken.
Plus plenty of sheep for some of the engineers.
As long as there is a local Dominos Pizza for them.
As long as I get enough notice Friday Saturday any day and place the meetings are worth going to even for the social side of it.
And you always gain something from them.😆

If September is going to be a weekend thing, and an engineer meeting, would it not be just as cheap to get a hotel in Majorca booked?
Seriously…? Flights are what… £30 / £40 each way if booked in advance with EasyJet, hotels are probably cheaper than the UK and Majorca is 2, 2 and a half hours away from any airport in the UK! Probably save some people driving for hours too!
Could do a Thursday afternoon flight, Friday meeting, Friday night social and Saturday stay or go as per peoples preferences.
Just thought I’d throw this in here as I’ve been wanting a UKW Meeting abroad for a while 🙂

This can be done easily but would definite numbers and flights & hotel paid for in full.Its something that could be done for next year.This year would be a push but commitment is the need here. Benidorm,minorca,majorca could also make it a family weekend if it was wanted.

A family white goods engineer meeting in Benidorm? Busmans holiday talking about motor brushes, bearing changes and service rates whilst suppin’ sangria? Perhaps even a timeshare trip thrown in? Sounds like a winner to me…..
