Servis Ecocare 1100 problem

Hi, wonder if anybody has any ideas about this one? My washing machine was originally making funny noises (sounded to me like a bra wire was trapped!). Then, the machine wouldn’t spin properly, the clothes were still soapy and soaking wet at the end of a cycle. My husband had a fiddle around and found a necklace stuck down one of the parts, which he removed. He put everything back together and put the soapy/wet clothes back in for a rinse/spin. This worked like a dream. Then…… I put another load of clothes in to wash………………….absolutely nothing!! The “on” light comes on when I set the programme but nothing else happens. I have tried switching it on, switchin it off, thumping it, singing to it ……. nothing! Every now again when I try, I hear a little “click” as though it is trying to do something. Now just don’t know what to do. Have 3 kids and the washing is mounting!! HELP ME PLEASE!!! Thank you. Carol.

We’d need a model to be sure but it sounds like a classic module failure on a Servis which is a very common problem with them I’m afraid. And Servis are having a laugh with the spares prices, most of the modules are a few pounds shy of £100!

Yes, I know that’s half the cost of of a new one. 🙁

EMW do reworked ones though and a lot of the guys on here use them so you could try the directories or Repairs@ for a local repairer and, if you don’t get any joy there, let us know what postal code area you’re in and we’ll see what we can come up with.
