ParticipantHi all, I have the Servis M2010 tumble dryer and the heating element is shot so I need to get a replacement. The problem however is that I seem to have some extra wires on mine that are not apparent in the pictures of the ones available online:
Here’s the one I can get (from several places) online:

Here’s the extra wires on my plug:

Extra plugs at other end:

Here’s where they go:

Do I have to somehow remove the extra wires from the main plug and fit them to the new one? Is it easy?
Thanks in advance for any help.
Edit (After reading sticky! 😳 ): The model number is: 20012703145

Looking at this – three wires to heater (ie low heat, high heat and neutral) then the other two are to what would be the operating thermostat and over heat cut off stat (wired together in series) Looking at yours seems the stats are fitted to a seperate plate rather than clipped to the heater assy. I would just connect them up as is and see what you get.

Update: I’ve now wired in the new element and i’m still not getting any heat. I tried pressing the overheat cut-off reset button but it didn’t “click”, should it have? It just seems to slide in and out loosely.
Any more ideas appreciated.

Have you got continuety through the thermostats ie through the two vacant tags.

The thermostats have been tested and are working but no, there is no continuity through the two vacant tags…. 😕
Edit: I took the thermostats to an appliance shop and he tested them and said they were ok. However, i’ve just tested them myself and there is continuity through the cut out stat but not through the black heat stat.
Does this mean I just need to replace the heat stat?
