Cheers chaps 😀
It just has CW on the end, any idea which one of those two product codes that is ?
We’ve not been to it yet but the customer’s description of “rubbling noise on spin” kind of gives the game away and I want to send the engineer spared up for the call.
Thanks again.
Dave.

Ta Kev but if you think I’m going to let an engineer spend another 15/20 minutes knocking out bearings on a job that pays £38…… 😉

And therin lies much of the the problem, its just not worth the extra labour if you even get paid for it, to be bothered to go down to that degree as you’ve already lost money on the call with it being a double visit usually.
Just ordering a backplate complete saves time, just the same as complete tubs, doors etc. and the overkill orders of motor, module and timer, although there is an element of training and familiarity there as well.
What always amazes me is that many a client can’t seem to understand that time is money, unless it’s their time of course, and that if an engineer needs two or three slots (time wise) allocated to one call then that call just cost you two or three jobs that you could have been doing. But not only that, for such repairs it’s usually cost you an initial call to inspect and order spares as well so one call just took up the same time as three or four calls so you lost those calls that you would have otherwise been able to do, or the engineers end up overbooked and you lost financially from it too. Were we charging by the hour I could afford to employ another engineer to do allow the engineers not to be stressed out and have more time to do things a bit better, but that I reckon should be common sense.
However the fact of the matter is that contract customers often force this attitude and also created and bred this culture of just replacing spares like this, as well as the “overkill” jobs, simply because there’s not enough profit to support any other way of working. Then they come on screaming that you’re using too many spares!
Maybe some people should read this post very carefully and take a long hard look at what they’re doing.

Interesting – 718006900 Connect price £101 with no alternative.
I phoned GBDar to check, part number supersedes to 718004200 Connect price £42.00 and in stock.
Work that one out then 😉
Thanks for your help guys 😀
Dave.
