Hi, we’ve got an M3802 which has recently started to play up.
First of all it refused to spin at the end of the programs.
Then it started to fill erratically, almost overfilling at the rinse stage and finally it does not fill at all now
I’ve checked the filter and the pump and also cleaned out all the pipes around the pump.
So now I have a machine which will not fill or spin on any program. That makes me suspect that I have a fault somewhere in the control or sensor bits of the machine – if it were a single fault like the inlet valve I’d chance a new component but I’m not sure that will help.
I saw the postings on drivebelts – ours seems OK
Any advice gratefully received – many thanks in advance!

Sounds like you have a blockage in the pressure system causing the machine to think it is full of water.

Power off, remove lid and locate round pressure switch with thin pipe attached near front of appliance. Remove pipe and attempt to blow down pipe. There should be little or no resistance. If it is blocked you need to follow the pipe down and clear out the vessel at the bottom. If this is all clear then the problem could be the pressure switch.

Thanks very much! Fantasic quick response.
I cleared the small bore tube and the pipe it goes into at the bottom and hey presto we have water fill and spin again.
Only trouble now is that the water is not getting hot – I suspect that the element burnt out while we were testing the machine yesterday when it would not fill – at one point I smelled burning and saw the element glowing red so pulled the power…..!

Pressure switch is now stuck in the Full position – it thinks that it’s full of water when it isn’t.Heater is an immersion type, so if has been on wothout water it will be fritzed.

Check the collecting bell on the side of the sump hose again, then replace element.

I think Chris has misread the thread. You have now cleared the fault but as he says the heater will be fried. New element and you should be fine.
