ParticipantHi called to this machine fault is will not fill properly. The machine fills for about 5 sec and beeps so removed panels and on the salt dispensor there is I assume is a fuse by shorting it out it fills ok, can anyone tell me what it protects and is it a seperate item as connections want to sell me a complete salt dispensor.
Thanks

It’s not shown on the spares diagram or the wiring diagram 😕
The only thing on the salt container shown seperately is the reed switch for the low level indicator.

urmmm, it fits above the valve on the salt container the numbers on it are 005a220/240v TYPE GR100. what does the reed switch do ❓ this part just slides off and looks just like a fuse and is o/c, don’t want to order a complete container if it is just going to blow and a sods law this is in the middle of no where. I can see this job costing me, 🙁 so the more info I get the better 💡

Participantsounds a bit like a reed switch OK. Try holding a magnet beside it and checking it for continuity again 😉

eye sea , 😮 so there must be a magnetic float of some kind inside of the container which is sticking or that the level is not correct inside of it.Told you it would cost me I’ll go back after the weekend and have another look before ordering a container.
thanks

could always try filling it with salt 😉
cannot imagine a problem with that would cause any fault other than the salt indicator light being on or off all the time…. but there again it is a Servoloni so anything could happen.May 13, 2005 at 8:15 pm #134542mbdas

water had leaked from air break on the side into this and check with meter and it was o/c so shorted it out and it filled ok thats why I thought it was a fuse of some kind (looks like a microtemp but clear) but like dmp said try passing a magnet over it and it does go s/c and I cant remember if salt light was on ,but everway why would sorting it out make all the difference if it only controlled the salt fill light ❓ the machine beeps after 5 secs of fill and no fault code comes up .when you look at it carefully with a magnify glass in the middle there is a smaller piece of fine what looks like fuse wire solderd to the main points in it which I think may have made the circuit before the main contacts in it make ❓ ❓ also electrue have stock of the dispensors which may suggest they do go faulty ❓ This is the first one of these I’ve done so I’m a bit in the dark on this 🙂 thats why most of the smileys are the same ❓

Hi
Sorry about delay on reply
Hope this helps.
If there has been a leak then the flood protection has been activated. water collects in the base , fiited on the base is a large gey device internal to this is a spung that expands causing a plunger to fly out pushing air up a tube that leads to the end of the fill hose cutting the water off. In this state when the machine asks for water the control board sences the flow (there will be no flow) through the valve by the mens of a flow meter located on the back of the water valve. it will then abort . To reset look at the fill hose there will be a clear disk with a red button press the button and then retry, you will need to replace the spung (pt no.499010400)and press reset the plunger. and of cause repair the leak.
Good luck. -
