Yup, vertical top loader. The worlds preferred washer, except for Europe.

Mmmmm, not sure its better than a drum…… 😕May 16, 2007 at 12:07 am #213642Penguin45

Well, it is a drum – just upright. Wash works slightly differently as the laundry is fully immersed and there normally two rinses only.

😆Ask a silly question……… that answer did give me a giggle 😀
So it has a vertical drum that spins as well as one of those huge paddles? To be honest I’ve not had the chance to look at the mechanics of these types of washers that’s why its 20 questions just now. Never really considered this type always thought wash performance wouldn’t be so good so its all new territory for me!
Anyhow, just bought one off eBay for £440 all in, so lets hope I haven’t bought a pup in washing machine terms…..!
Thanks Martin….

Ah…….
For wash, the paddle will agitate and vigorously wash the clothes. When you get to the spin sequence, the gearbox locks out the paddle and spins the entire inner drum assembly. The paddle will spin as well, but it’s at drum speed and the laundry moves to the outside of the drum, away from the paddle anyway.HTH,
