Servis M6852 start button

Got a servis M6852 8.5KG model . You can only start it by holding the start button in for about 6 seconds. Is this normal or is there a child lock activated. No instruction book for this one. Or is it a module fault. Customer said it wont work at all but I found holding the start button makes it go. Any thoughts welcome. Steve

my first thought would be the start switch

take panel out use ohm meter and check switch operation may be intermittant

look for bad solder joints around switch etc

the start on servis was terrible the best way to start them i found was to strip the handle and put a bit more tension on the little spring then advise the cust to press start BEFORE they close the door if it is the model with the little pcb up top it remembers you have pressed it,then close door firmly and wait it will start.However if she has damaged the buttons etc it may need a new top pcb and if it is janus you wont be able to prog it.

Now there’s an idea Chris thanks. Without stripping the door handle etc if you press start and then shut the door the machine starts straight up everytime. How weird!
