Servis M7055/6W fridge freezer making odd noises

Hi,

I have a Servis M7055/6W that was bought in 2001. It has worked perfectly until the last month.

Its started to make a whooshing noise every 3 or so seconds. If i feel the radiator ( black piping on the back ) i can feel a rushing of fluid in side them.

In the last couple of days the compressor/pump seems to of been on constantly.

I have defrosted the freezer compartment and it still making the same noise.

Both the fridge and freezer compartments seem to be the correct temperature.

Can anyone help me, is it time for a new fridge?

Hi

It could be that the compressor has pumped some oil into the system but It could be also normal refrigeration noise from the system.

If the applaince is cooling correctly then leave alone as you could be looking for trouble that isnt there.

Thanks for that, but i find it hard to belive that the compressor/pump should be running 24×7 and the noise has started only in the last few weeks.

Hi

If the fridge is at the correct temprature then it would be safe to assume either you have a partial blockage that is allowing enough refrigerant through to cool ther fridge but not enough to switch the stat off.or that the evaperator has come away from the liner which would show up as a build up of snow on the rear of the fridge wall.If the full amount of refrigerant was going through and it was a faulty stat then the food in the fridge would be frozen.

Actually there is ‘snow’ at the back of the fridge. What cat i look for at the rear of the fridge?

Ia the snow more than droplets or 1/2 inche thick ?

If so its a scrap fridge freezer.

I guess its about 1/8″ thick and I would say that its getting thicker, but not fast.
