Hi. I wonder if anyone can help me. I had a problem with my washer stopping mid cycle and figured out it was the heating element which I replaced. When I put the washer back on, it worked for almost a full wash but before getting to any spinning, it stopped the cycle and the dial just clicked round to the end. Since that’s all it’s done on every programme for both the washer and the dryer. It doesnt fill, it doesnt empty, it just makes some initial clicking noises when you power up and then the dial just clicks round. I’ve checked all the connections I can see, checked all pipes for blockages, checked the pump is not jammed and even put the old heater back in to try that, but it still clicks through the dial. One other thing I should say is that in that first wash after replacing the heater I had to turn the machine off mid cycle to go out and turned it on again when I came home. I’ve done this many times before and never had a problem, but it had only been going about 5 minutes after switching it on again before failing. Can anyone help? or is my washer doomed!

There is a specific programme reset procedure for some of these machines that should be detailed in the user instructions, if the programme is interupted at any time, the machine needs to be reset. Power down without the correct procedure may not reset the machine. Check user instructions. If this fails it’s probable programme controller fault. Best look at an ISE, Quality, Reliability and such good service!!!

Thanks for that. I’ve been searching for the user instructions since all this happened – you know what it’s like, when you don’t need them you can lay your hands on them straight away…..but when you do, they’re no where to be seen! Does anyone know what the reset procedure is for this machine?
