ParticipantHi
I’m back again for a new problem thats just started. 😕
My wife called to say the door won’t unlock or release after its cycle. She’s even tried a extra rinse spin cycle and leaving it powered off for a long time.
I don’t know if its actually the safety lock mechanism that is activated, or if it is actually just jammed till I see it.
Any ideas as to what this might be, and more importantly, how do we get the door open ?
Thanks… TJ

Ok, I’m stumped … just spent over an hour trying to figure this one out and could not get the door open. The door is not jammed, looks to be the safety lock that is not disengaging.
Any ideas or advise as I need to get the washing out before it goes mouldy 😆

Unplug it, then remove the lid. With the power off, the lock should dis-engage within a few minutes. If it does, you have a problem with the controls, which would be unusual. If it doesn’t, either the handle is broken or the lock itself has failed. The lock can be reached by delving down the inside of the machine and feeling for the point of the door latch – you can push it aside to pop the door. If you can’t, you will need to break the lock to release the door.
There are early and late versions of this machine, so if you do need to break the doorlock the serial number will be required to identify a replacement.

Thanks for the reply … we’ve got the lid off … just need to figure out how to dis-engage the lock now. It’s a tight fit in there. Will try the break in approach 😆
