    Hi

I need to put the rear of the outer tub back after I have sucessfully completed a bearing change (with help from my dad and still blinkin difficult!).

The rubber tub seal has a roughly S shape profile. I presume the flat, almost closed part of the S goes on one of the flanges but which one, the main tub flange or the flange on the rear lid of the tub?

And then should the other, more open part of the S be towards the front or the rear of the machine?

Thanks in advance for any clues!

BTW I am going to try and manage with a new seal but no sealant/gunge whatever on it. I went to a repair shop in Winlaton that had some high temperature sealnat when I phoned them but it turned out to be cooker sealant in a toothpaste sized tube for £15 so I didn’t bother!!

The seal goes onto the backplate. There is a cutout (if you have the right part) that locates at the top of the backplate. It will be obvious if you get that bit right.
