Recently I replaced both the inner and outer drum bearings on our washing machine which is a servis millenium what a job but it is as new now and sounds really quiet.

The problem i encoutered was that i could not get the back plate to sit 100{e5d1b7155a01ef1f3b9c9968eaba33524ee81600d00d4be2b4d93ac2e58cec2d} flush with the drum and with a struggle got the seal on and the metal strap that holds the rear plate to the drum but it leaks now.

Why wont the back plate sit flush with the drum as i think this is why its leaking, The bearings were pushed in as far as they would go and the water seal is flush and covering the bearing ok.

    Any help would be great.

    Thanks

    Justin

These backplates are difficult at the best of times.
I’m afraid you will have to take backplate off again and reseat tub gasket/seal. When you get the backplate and metal strap back in place clamp with a pair of molegrips at the six o’clock position. Then another pair of molegrips at the nine o’clock and three o’clock positions, you should then find it gives you the ability to tighten the nut and bolt to a greater extent thus stopping leaks.

be careful not to damage backplate with molegrips.

    remember unplug machine!!!!!
