Servis quartz 601 F flashing

No mention of a number after the F by this elderly lady that just rang me in a panic. She reports it fills but then just F flashes. Motor brushes?

They’re all listed on P5 – Known Error Codes.

Should always be F and a number – motor would be 4.

Thanks Chris. Seen error codes already. I thought there was a number after F but will see it tomorrow.
The poor lady asked for me by name then forgot my name mid conversation. This is going to be a non profit repair as last time i was there to clear blockage she was telling me some bloke had walked in thru back door and stolen her purse off the kitchen table. Very sad.
Some times money isnt everything 🙂

Blimey, this is an old one,

If I remember correctly (which would make a change) I think the F1 fault is related to thermistor.

What I suggest is see if the machine heats, if it does then take a close look at the thermistor mounted under the tub at about 7 O’clock. Resistance is not usually a problem with these, what normally caused a problem was the resin the thermistor was set into the plastic with separates and gets a slight air gap so the heat doesn’t transfer. If you look closely you can usually see it, sometimes you can take the resin out of the plastic.

F3 i saw on rinse and spin. Water not draining in time for spin. Drain output ok but sludged up hoover type pressure vessel hose. Fairy non bio liquid used. Cleaned it, water level now one inch lower and lady testing it now. F3 timeout appears 1 minute and 10 secs after manual spin selected.
Fingers crossed.
