ParticipantOk, so this error code has been dealt with in an earlier post from forum guest Marc. It went like this….
“Can anyone help? My very old servis quartz 600 washing machine is giving an error code (3F or F3) towards the end of the cycle. At that point the machine stops, the drum has been drained but the washing is soaking wet. If I choose “Rinse & Fast Spin”, the rinse will work but the 3F error usually reoccurs. If I then choose a manual fast spin, this completes sucessfully. “The only difference is mine only part drains whereas his fully drains. It will however fully drain if I manually hold down the cancel button or do the extra cycles like he did, so I don’t think it’s a drainage block issue.
The helpful people then told him that is was a pressure system failure and to clean the little white bottle situated round the back, above the motor, between the belt. That cured it for him and the thread ends. I have already checked/cleaned the little white bottle and I am not so lucky. I am aware that it is a different model number, however the fault is the same, as is the situation of little white bottle so I’m guessing there are many similarites. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
cheers

sounds more likely to be a blockage in the sump hose some of these old servis machines had a filter built into the sump hose which would catch coins etc.
a good way to check if it is draining properly is to put it onto a rinse with no clothes in it, then when it has filled up wth water press the cancel button and see how long it takes to drain the water away it should take about a minute. any great increase on this time woud indicate a blockage.April 1, 2007 at 11:03 am #209350Alsas

Thankyou Mr. Suede, I took the sump hose off, no filter, a bit gunky but nothing too bad I thought, took the main drain from the pump off, again, not too bad but still a little dirty, took the motor out (absolubt mission to get those bolts undone) poked through it with some pipe cleaners, again a little dirty but nothing terrible, poked around where the sump hose connects to the drum, massive slab of scale falls out… put it back together and it works fine.
Thankyou for your help, I would never have looked that close to the drum if it weren’t for your post.
cheers
