    Hi all,

I have a slight issue with my Servis Rainwave 1100 Integrated Washer Dryer. It came with the flat that I just bought and the previous owner had it for about 4+yrs already.

For the past month, it rumbled very loudly during the spin cycles, and I have always dismissed it as an unbalanced load. I did notice that the drum is very loose and moves about easily. However, yesterday during a final spin, it stopped abruptly. On inspection, the entire drum seems to have β€œdislocated” and stucked to the right side, and cannot be moved around at all.

    Please kindly advice

      1. Is this issue of the Servis Washer Dryer worth repairing? i.e. would it cost more that Β£150?

    2. If not, are there any Integrated Washer Dryers that you would recommend? Criteria being reliable and value for money.

    3. Does anyone have any issues with replacing integrated washer dryers? Would one need a professional kitchen fitter to do it or would a washing machine engineer be able to install it and reattach the existing kitchen cupboards?

    4. Lastly, can anyone recommend a engineer / fitter that can install an integrated washer/dryer in the London W8 area?
Any suggestions / recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Once again, many thanks for your help! πŸ˜€

    Regards,
    Tasa

It depends on the level of damage caused, the bearings have failed and probably now damaged the inner drum/support and possibly the drum backplate. It’s probably worth a look to be honest as an integrated washer dryer won’t be cheap or easy to source.

I would ask an engineer to check before commiting to a new one (see below).

Nope, a whitegoods engineer will be able to do this for you normally.

    Hi Tasa.

Yes, your Servis is pretty dead. It’s very expensive to replace all the drum, especially if it’s completely collapsed πŸ˜•

My advice is to get a free-standing machine, rather than intergrated. Unless you buy a very expensive intergrated model, you’ll just get a un-reliable machine.

But I’d also recommend getting a seperate washer and dryer if you have the space?

Thank you very much, Dave and Goatboy, for your helpful suggestions and prompt replies! πŸ˜€

I think I might bin the Servis then. An integrated washer dryer is necessary, as I don’t have much kitchen space, and my kitchen is open-planned into the lounge area, so it would need to be concealed.

My current thoughts on a replacement are

    2. John Lewis Brand Integrated Washer Dryer – Β£699

    3. Miele WT2679IWPM Washer Dryer – Β£1695 Why is this so much more expensive?
Any one has any experiences with the above? Or other recommendations?

    Kind Regards,
    Tasa

If you can stretch to it, go for the Miele, it’s by far the best quality one you’ll get in the UK πŸ˜€

The other two are both Zanussi in disguise but still pretty good so go for the AEG πŸ˜‰
