Servis two tub – spinner not working according to an old dea

I’ve never done twin tub, is it easy and is it worth going the troubles to fix it?

What should I look for on this old beast? Are there any spares or do I need to post on the forum asking for old stock for this twin tub?

I do not have the model number, sadly.

Last did one of these more than 25 years ago, you have more chance of getting a wheel for Boudica’s chariot than finding spares for this machine if it is an original, ‘proper’ Wilkins & Mitchell Servis.

Brought up on these,I did one last year.
Could be the belt, micro switch, motor. Best find out model no.it’s on a plate at the back or on some the front or control panel as lots of variations (or a photo) but they were last made in 1991 so spares are rare. Still got some spares in the loft so may be able to help.

ive got a few new old stock bits for these including a spin shaft and bearing unit

Visited the twin tub, needs spin belt. The owner said she threw away a round plastic(?) ring which fell off underneath. Have a feeling this part is vital(?). No sign of fallen belt as it was nowhere to be found. Either the elf took it or the owner binned it.

The model number is Servis 1116, serial number is 006243. Assumed purchase date march 1987.

The owner’s handbook does not appear to match the actual machine. The actual machine is Servis supertwin 111 but the handbook says Lasertwin 115.

Basically it needs new spin belt. Is it a stretch type like with polyvee belt on modern front loader without moving the motor to adjust?

Do you have this belt available?

I think the green Hotpoint belt will do it but I’ll have a look over the holiday to see if I can find one
