Servis w/m door/interlock prob

Hi, any one come across this, Servis W/M model M6011S ser 20044411563 18 months old, job last week interlock not engaging when door closed. interlock checks out OK and machine works if lock operated via manual manipulation with screwdriver so must be door pecker. ordered kit from GB DAR and fitted it, still same prob, now have another customer phoned to-day Servis M6003 ser 20044315690 about two years old, going on Sat but by customers description same prob.

Asked GB DAR parts if any mods for above models but said no, sorry for long winded explanation. Thanks for any help.

hi victor, try taking the outer/inner door trim off,(just clips together)and see if door lock then engages properly. sometimes these door trimscan slip and stop door from closing properly 8)

Allways change door interlock and handle kit together . I find that cures the problem every time.

Thanks for your reply Washman and Deltra will see how I get on with Saturdays call, now have a new interlock so will go back to previous customer and try this plus door trim thingy.

Ive had this, seems to be no reason for it. changed interlock, catch even door, filed bits off back of catch final straw found a second hand lock. no call back thank god
c**p machines always cause more problems for less profit plus they are usually in c**p houses

How true an observation that is 😉 I cringe when someone phones me and says “Do you fix Servis washers….mate?”

That gives me a clue for starters…………. 🙄

Bit off topic, but Martins comment about ‘MATE’ from customers reminded me. I absolutely hate it when customers get over familiar (unless I know them very well), knowing my name and using it as a punctuation for every sentence!!! 👿 The MRS once took a call and was surprised I hadn’t mentioned this best mate before……….he had my card, thats all.
I’m a sole trader but I prefer my trading name to be used.

Went to my Sat call had new lock and handle kit just incase, decided to try the tip from Deltra so removed the outer door trim only, closed door and hey presto machine works. Put outer door trim back on and problem returns. The trim is very thin and would do as a Rolf Harris wobble board, you can see it actually move and warp as you close the door and must hamper proper connection.

Removed trim again and yes it works, as the machine is in a utility room
customer is happy as long as it works and I can see no unsafe aspect with this solution. Customer admitted that under guarantee she called engineer out from Servis who after some deliberation said he did not know what the problem was and then left.

Went out to-day to my other Servis as mentioned at start of this enqurie and carried out same routine and again it worked.
